Valkyrie Weimaraners LLC
Deposit Information
Deposits and how they are handled.
A deposit is made to show that you are committed to getting a puppy from us. In turn, we have an obligation to let you know how your deposit is handled. That is the intent of this page.
A deposit can be refunded anytime prior to the time you commit to a particular litter. Once you commit to a puppy from a particular litter, the deposit is no longer refundable unless we decide the circumstances warrant a deposit refund. The decision to refund a deposit is at the discretion of Valkyrie Weimaraners once commitment is made.
We always reserve the right to keep a puppy from each litter and decide which puppy that will be. Puppies we keep have the potential to enter our breeding program and are the reason we bred in the first place. They represent the core of what we do here.
Because the date of deposit affects your puppy picking order, and picking order can be very important to many people, it is important for everyone to know how this is handled. When you make a change to your original request that might affect other people, those people should not be penalized. These rules are made to protect our customer's expectations.
- If deposit is mailed using US mail, the envelope postmark date is used as date of deposit. The postmark date is always used as a deposit date for any subsequent correspondence.
- If a deposit is made through PayPal, the PayPal transaction date is used.
- If the deposit is made by phone using your credit card, the phone call date/time is used.
- The sex, coat color and length must be known at date of deposit. If the puppy is intended for breeding, that also must be stipulated.
- If a deposit is to be applied to a particular litter that is not the next available litter, that information must be provided with the deposit or in an email that immediately follows a PayPal or phone deposit.
The following changes to your deposit will change the deposit date to the date you inform us of the change. All changes must be in writing. Your deposit date will not change if a litter is born that does not include a puppy with the qualities your originally requested.
- The sex, coat color and length was not provided with original deposit. The deposit date will be changed to the date that information is made available to us.
- You decide that you want to change the sex, coat color or length of your desired puppy. You decide that you want to breed but did not stipulate that with your original deposit.
- You did not specify a particular litter in your original deposit correspondence and you now decide that you do not want a puppy from the next available litter.
For example, you place a deposit for a shorthair gray female on 1/1/2008 and do not request a particular litter. This puts you in line for a shorthair gray female. A litter is born with three shorthair gray females on January 15. These females will be ready to go to their new homes in 8 weeks. On January 22, we call you to say that three females have been born and you commit to getting one of these pups. On February 12 you write to say that you are not able to get a puppy from the January 15 litter because your daughter is getting married in March and that would not be a good time to bring in a new puppy. You want to wait for the next litter. While we respect your decision to wait, your deposit date is now changed to 2/12/2008 and you fall in line behind any deposits for a shorthair gray female that were received prior to that time.
- You specified a puppy from a particular litter and change to a different litter.
